Teeth Whitening
Regardless of how well you care for your teeth, it is inevitable
that, over time, some yellowing or discoloration will occur. This
gradual change can be caused by aging and substances that stain
your teeth (such as coffee and tobacco). To combat discoloration,
Sala Family Dentistry offers whitening. We currently offer two
different ways to lighten your teeth. The traditional take home
method and an extreme bleaching which includes two in-office visits.
We will custom make fitted trays and provide the teeth whitening
gel. Generally, at-home teeth whitening takes two weeks to complete.
With the extreme bleaching immediate results can be seen after
the first visit and the final results are completed after the
second visit. Please contact Sala Family Dentistry to schedule
your visit.
Porcelain Veneers
One of the most versatile cosmetic dentistry procedures, porcelain
veneers - available at our Reno office - can be used to whiten
and straighten teeth, as well as to fill in gaps between them.
Basically, veneers are thin shells of ceramic material bonded
to the outside of your tooth. In most cases, porcelain veneers
do not require a substantial amount of your original teeth to
be removed, making them a strong, safe, durable option. Please
contact our practice to learn about porcelain veneers. Drs. Todd,
Jason, and Mike have received extensive training in this area,
and utilize our “in
office dental laboratory” to create the shape and color
you desire. To find out if veneers are perfect for you please
call Sala Family Dentistry to schedule your visit.
Dental
Bridges
Missing teeth can create a host of problems both aesthetic and functional,
but bridges can be an option used to restore health and beauty to
your smile. A bridge consists of a replacement tooth or teeth and
usually two anchor crowns that are custom fitted over the adjacent
teeth. Bridges can prevent teeth from moving and improve the appearance
of your smile. Sala Family Dentistry uses tooth-colored bridges
for natural-looking results, and we have an “in
office dental laboratory” to custom make your bridge.
Please call Sala Family Dentistry today.
Dental Implants
For individuals who wish to replace missing teeth, another effective
long-term solution is dental implants. Dental implants provide greater
structural support and do not require the use of adjacent teeth.
Dental implants serve as the artificial root to which new teeth
are bonded. Dental implants are typically constructed of titanium,
a strong and safe material that effectively attaches to bone. The
procedure to insert dental implants typically involves three steps:
the implant insertion stage, a period of healing for the jawbone,
and the attachment of the new tooth or teeth. To find out if this
is a great option for you please call Sala Family Dentistry to schedule
your visit.
Mini Dental Implants
Mini dental implants are another option to replace missing teeth,
add strength to long span bridges, and stabilize dentures. The beauty
of these mini implants is that they are placed in a non-invasive,
non-surgical (no sutures) manner and they are immediately able to
be used. These implants will make a loose denture lock into the
mouth, ending the need for denture adhesives. We are able to use
your existing denture and allow you to eat your favorite food without
worry. Please call Sala Family Dentistry today for more information
on this new technology!
Dental Crowns
Damaged and decayed teeth can be effectively restored with tooth-colored
crowns. A crown is a permanent covering that fits over your original
tooth, restoring health and strength. Sala Family Dentistry uses
crowns matched to your natural tooth color, which improve the appearance
of your smile as well as your dental health. Crowns can be used
to whiten, reshape, and realign teeth as well as to repair damage.
We can make custom crowns for you in just two appointments! If you
ever had the notion that dental crowns look bad and are noticeable,
then you’ve never noticed a beautifully crafted all-porcelain
crown. Compared to older porcelain fused to metal crowns, all-porcelain
crowns have a natural appearance in terms of color and contours.
When done properly, it should be extremely difficult to distinguish
it from a natural tooth. No dark lines are apparent at the gum line.
Our office commonly replaces unsightly crowns with beautiful new
porcelain crowns. We utilize our “in
office dental laboratory” and the custom coloring ability
of Jim Copple, certified dental technician, to match your new crown
to your existing tooth or teeth. Sala Family Dentistry would love
to provide these beautiful crowns for you. Please call to schedule
your visit today.
Bonding
A simple way to improve the appearance of your smile without teeth
whitening, porcelain veneers or dental implants is cosmetic bonding.
Bonding uses a natural-looking material to fill in gaps between
teeth and to repair chips and cracks. Bonding of teeth does not
typically require the removal of any tooth structure, making it
a good alternative to crowns or porcelain veneers (in some cases).
The composite material used for tooth bonding comes in many different
shades, so it can be matched precisely to the color of your teeth.
The result is a natural-looking means of restoring your smile that
can be completed in a single appointment using our laser. Please
call Sala Family Dentistry and see if this is a great option for
your smile.
White Composite Fillings
Until recently, dentists filled and sealed cavities exclusively
using a silver and mercury amalgam. Unfortunately, these fillings
(or restorations) often weaken teeth due to the large amount of
the original tooth that has to be removed. Modern dentistry has
increasingly turned to composite fillings as a strong, safe and
more natural looking alternative. Composite fillings utilize a white
substance that is bonded to the tooth creating increased strength
to the previously compromised tooth. Many times we can use the Laser
to remove the cavity without anesthesia.
Root Canal Therapy
Sala Family Dentistry utilizes the latest nickel-titanium instruments
to effectively treat teeth that need to have a root canal. From
teeth with abscesses to cavities that enter the nerve, we are usually
able to complete a root canal in one visit. This therapy is an effective
alternative to an extraction and allows for you to keep your teeth.
Please call Sala Family Dentistry for more information.
Dentures and Partials
Sala Family Dentistry also offers dentures and partial dentures
to replace missing teeth. We can usually accomplish this in a few
visits and create a smile you are happy to show. Our office can
reline your existing denture or partial the same day minimizing
the time you have to go without your teeth, which will allow you
to not miss a meal.
Children’s Dentistry
Sala Family Dentistry prides itself in being able to treat children.
We feel that if you gain the confidence of a child early on, then
they do not have to have the fear that many adults have of the dentist.
Through the use of special words and our gentle manner the younger
patients have an enjoyable time during their visit. With a children’s
area in the welcoming room and prizes and stickers at the end of
each visit, the younger people have fond memories of our office.
Sala Family Dentistry would love to see your child today!

hygienists who can effectively treat all of your dental health needs.
This group has received extensive education in managing your oral
health, and their therapy is outstanding. We can treat your needs
painlessly and efficiently covering all ranges of health from gingivitis
to advanced periodontitis (gum disease). Please call Sala Family

Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Nitrous oxide also known as “laughing gas” can make
the more nervous patient relaxed and comfortable during dental procedures.
Nitrous is a safe and effective way to decrease anxiety, and is
quickly removed from the body at the end of your visit in just a
few breaths. This mild sedation is a great way to enjoy your visit
at Sala Family Dentistry. Please let us know if you would like to
have nitrous during your appointment.
In-Office
Dental Lab
At our recently finished dental facility is our “in-office
dental laboratory.” Here, Jim Copple, a certified dental technician,
custom makes the beautiful natural looking crowns, veneers, and
bridges for our patients. Jim has 22 years of experience making
teeth, and has recently added his daughter Amber to his family business.
Jim can make same day consultations, giving us the ability to match
the exact shade of existing teeth. This allows for crowns to be
unnoticeable to the naked eye. Also we have the ability to get your
crowns back sooner sometimes even the same day. Please call Sala
Family Dentistry to find out more information.
