Dr. K.C. Gilbert

Education & Qualification

Dr. K.C. Gilbert would like to introduce himself to you and your practice. He completed the third and final year of his orthodontic residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He’s incredibly excited and ready to join the Sala Family Dentistry team in his hometown, and become intimately involved in a community that he and his wife, Erika, can call home. Having grown up in Reno, Dr. Gilbert has a tremendous appreciation for what a jewel of a city it really is and is beyond happy to return home to practice near family and friends.

As a brief introduction, below are a few highlights of Dr. Gilbert’s educational background:

  • Bishop Manogue, Reno NV (2005)
  • University of Nevada, Reno, B.S. in Biochemistry—GO PACK! (2010)
  • Oregon Health and Science College of Dentistry, Student Body President (2015)
  • University of Florida, Orthodontics Residency, Chief Resident

This year has marked several new beginnings for Dr. Gilbert and Erika. Before completing their respective programs at the University of Florida, they recently married in the beauty of Lake Tahoe. Dr. Gilbert in his orthodontic training and Erika graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine with her doctorate (DVM). They are both thrilled to enter careers that can become meaningful platforms for community involvement, and allow them to have a positive impact on the people and animals that enrich their daily lives.

In their free time, Dr. Gilbery and Erika are outdoor enthusiasts. On the weekends, you’ll often find them spending time outdoors hiking, running, rock climbing, or enjoying time next to a body of water. As goes with the territory of being married to a veterinarian, they love and spoil their three dogs and cat, all of which regularly join them in outdoor adventures (yes, even the cat!).
