Why I Decided to Become a Dentist

From an early age, I found an interest in dentistry. Every time I would visit my pediatric dentist, it was a fun experience for me. As I got older, I started asking my dentist questions about my teeth and looking at x-rays. When I started college, I joined the UNR Pre-Dental Society and found a passion for dentistry even before I really knew much about it!

What I loved most was volunteering in dental clinics to help those in need. I traveled to Indio, CA to volunteer for Los Medicos Voladores (“The Flying Doctors”). I was able to see so many people who were not able to get the dental care they needed, so they showed up for the clinic and lined up in the early hours of the morning and waited all day for the possibility to have their tooth filled or have an extraction done.

Many years later, I was able to observe “Dentistry From The Heart” at Sala Family Dentistry and I was drawn in even more to the profession because of the ability to help people in need. Fast forward to 2020 and I couldn’t be happier working alongside the team at Sala Family Dentistry to help the people of Northern NV and to be practicing as a general dentist! I love my job!
