[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Many patients think that when they come in for a cleaning and a check-up, all we are checking for is cavities. But the reality is that our Continuing Care appointments include so much more than that! We review your health history for changes, check your blood pressure, and do a full periodontal exam to assess the health of your gums and bone. And that all happens before the dentist even comes in to do your exam!

One of the most important things we do at a Continuing Care appointment is an oral cancer screening where we check for any unusual lumps, bumps, or tenderness in your head and neck. On average, oral cancer in the U.S. kills approximately 1 person every hour, every day of the year. The 5 year survival rate has not changed significantly in decades and is currently only 57% due to the fact that many oral cancers are discovered too late in the disease process. Early detection is key, and that’s why we include an oral cancer screening at every Continuing Care appointment. We want the best overall health possible for all of our patients, so if you are overdue for your Continuing Care, please call us to schedule today.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
