reno-tahoe-summer

It is official, summer weather has officially arrived in the Truckee Meadows. This is such a great time of year to explore with family and friends outdoors. There are endless possibilities in the summer for fun: backyard BBQ’s, staying cool at Lake Tahoe, Pyramid Lake or along the Truckee River, traveling – the list is endless. We’re lucky enough to live in an area where people vacation! Here are some of our favorite things to do during the summer in the Reno-Tahoe area.

Baseball: Reno Aces games are a blast! Grab your friends and family and enjoy a baseball game in the sun.

WildIsland: This family friendly waterpark in Sparks, NV is perfect for a hot day! They have a waterpark, bowling, mini golf, an arcade and more!

Ski in Tahoe: Yes, that’s right, skiing in the summer! With record snow levels this past winter, you’ll be able to ski until the 4th of July at Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows. Take advantage of this epic summer!

Brunch and Lunch: Grab a coffee at Hub Coffee Roasters and take a walk down the river. Enjoy an outdoor patio with twinkly lights at Stone House Cafe or take advantage of delicious drinks and outdoor seating at The Depot or Brewer’s Cabinet.

Hiking: We’re lucky to have hiking trails all over our Reno-Tahoe community! If you want to stay in town, the Hunter Creek Trail is perfect. Tahoe has plenty of gorgeous trails with views of the lake. The Vikingsholm trail is a pleasant and moderate one mile hike that is fairly wide and perfect for the little ones.

Always remember to stay hydrated, and wear lot of sunscreen this summer! We can’t wait for the months to come and to continue exploring our gorgeous community. We always want to know more about the fun things to do in our area, so tell us! What are your favorite activities in Reno-Tahoe?
