The sun 🌞 is shining, grills are heating up, and the days are long.  Summer is in full swing!  This also means that it is the perfect time to start creating your child’s beautiful smile with orthodontic treatment!
We know – getting braces or starting Invisalign treatment may not be the most fun summertime activity, but for many kids, it is an ideal time to get a head start on aligning their teeth and obtaining a beautiful, healthy, and functional smile.
Here are a few reasons summer is a great time to start orthodontic treatment…
- School is out meaning appointments can be scheduled without missing valuable time in school.
- Summer gives kids valuable time to learn how to get used to their braces or Invisalign treatment.  They will have time to learn how to brush and floss properly as well as adjust to eating braces-friendly foods before they have to go back to school.
- Returning to school with braces after a long break can mean that your child may feel more natural and confident when they see their peers.  Their teeth may even have started to straighten out!
Of course, not every child will be ready to start their orthodontic journey this summer, but it is the perfect time to schedule their complimentary consultation with Dr. K.C. and our orthodontic team here at Sala Family Dentistry.
One final question that you may be wondering is whether it is safe for your child to see the orthodontist with the current pandemic.  We here at Sala Family Dentistry have worked hard to ensure that we have the safest environment possible for all of our patients as well as our staff.
Here is a list of safety protocols that our orthodontic team, as well as all of Sala Family Dentistry, have implemented to ensure that your child’s orthodontic appointment is safer than ever during COVID-19…
- Daily screening of patients and staff including temperature readings and screening questions prior to entering the building.
- No waiting room.  You will be walked directly from your car to your treatment room.  For your convenience, all paperwork is available online.
- Use of an airborne disinfectant machine that has a 99.9% kill rate for aerosol viruses and bacteria within 15 seconds of contact.
- Enhanced personal protective equipment (PPE).  Our entire team has been professionally fitted with N-95 masks to ensure the highest safety.  In addition, our clinical team is also wearing face shields and an additional layer of protection.
- UV-C lights have been installed in our building’s air ducts which helps destroy the molecular bond of viruses and bacteria.
- Only one patient at a time is taken into the building for everyone’s safety.
We look forward to working with you and your child and creating not only a beautiful and functional smile but also a wonderful and safe treatment experience!
