Dr. Karen Kucharski was born in sunny Los Angeles, California. She went to Dental School at Boston University and graduated Cum Laude in 1998. She did her General Practice Residency at the University of Southern California in 1999. 2020 will be an exciting year for her as she is taking on a Fellowship Convocation with the Academy of General Dentistry. She is also currently enrolled in the Forensic Dentistry Fellowship at the University of Tennessee, Graduate School of Medicine.

We’re so lucky to have her! Not only is she an amazing dentist, but the also is a great human! She has spent a lot of her time with volunteer worked. She has volunteered for the USNS Mercy in Indonesia, Thousand Smiles in Mexico and the Bodhi Tree Foundation in Nepal.

She owned her own practice in North Lake Tahoe for 20 years, but with a lot of her time being spent in Tennessee conducting research in forensic medicine/odontology, she decided to sell and join us at Sala Family Dentistry. Dr. Karen is also a clinical supervisor at TMCC.

In her free time she likes to hang out with her two rescue dogs, her 150 lb Newfoundland named Chumlee, her 18-year-old Chihuahua Annabelle and her 7-year-old aloof rescue cat, Buck!
